Conversations about girls

This is kind of an ugly comic. Kind of silly, too. Whatever. Probably won’t be posting all that much for the next couple of weeks. Bought a one way ticket back home without any clear idea of when I’m coming back. Part of me hopes I never make it. In any case I’ll probably have some new comics to post whenever. I don’t know.

There's nothing ugly about this. It's minimalistic and there's a beautiful economy of line, but neither of those things are other ways of saying "it's ugly but that's okay," at least not in this case.

Visually ugly, or ugly for content? I don't see either. Your comics can be very harsh sometimes, and I hope you're not so harsh on yourself in person, I suspect it's undeserved.

Oops! Not looking for compliments here, I promise! It's just... I dunno, unappealing. No balance. Too much white space in all of the wrong spots. Ugly ugly ugly!

Matt - Home is this little place I like to call Bellevegas. Or, you know, rural Ontario.

Kat - I'm pretty harsh on myself sometimes. Given that my "writing habits" tend to coincide with my horrible issues with depression and self loathing the worst of it sometimes makes it into my comics. So, yeah, grain of salt I guess.

I understand the need to be critical with your work. The key is to be able to separate your ego from your work at the end of the day. Kna' mean? Being honest about your opinions is good. Obsessively beating yourself up won't make you better at anything so why do it? Am I right? I can also sympathize with the self loathing. Dude were you raised catholic too?
