Here’s a page from a story in Boredom Pays #6
I haven’t really been posting all that much on here lately but, I
promise you, I am indeed hard at work. I’ve been working on finishing up
Boredom Pays #6 which was originally going to be put out in August
before I decided to scrap half of what I had and get another couple of
stories together. I’ve got about 5 pages left to draw and it will for
sure be done by this time next month, I promise! I also just finished a
piece for the unsolved mysteries anthology that I’m pretty stoked about.
I’ve also started working on a super secret fiction project that I’ve
been wanting to do for quite some time. I’m not going to say much about
it but I’m pretty excited about the ideas that are coming out. I Might
post things about it at some point. Not likely for quite some time
though. I’m letting it gestate. Comics take a lot of time if you’re
really trying to do something worthwhile so that’s exactly what I’m
going to give it. I’ve got other things gestating, too, but I probably
shouldn’t even elude to them without knowing if these are things that
are going to happen. I hate to eat my words.
I’m tabling at Canzine in Toronto again this year, which is typically
a fun show to do. My high point last year was having Chester Brown buy
some of my books. Not likely to top that this year but I’m stoked for
it, as always. I’m going to make Expozine in Montreal happen, too. I’ve
been meaning to get out there for the past three years but have always
had plans fall through. This year I’m going to come by myself on the bus
and hang out with people I don’t know. The idea terrifies me but it’s
also something I would like to get comfortable with. I want to start
going to more shows in different cities. This is a start.
So. Yeah. I feel like a shit for not posting anything ever anymore.
But the truth is I’m just working on longer, more substantial pieces.
It’s harder to find those bite sized pieces to share with you guys. I’ll
find something though, I promise. Thanks for continuing to pay
attention to what I’m doing.
Much love

having traveled as far as i did for TCAF this last spring, i can pretty safely say that going by yourself to hang out with people you don't know too well at cool comics things can be super awesome. i'm really hoping to go to more shows myself as well in the future, including TCAF again this coming year.
also good luck on your gestating fiction project! i've got a secret fiction comic in the works, too, and i feel your pain about not wanting to say too much and then eat your words. yours'll be awesome, i'm sure!
I must say your comic art is getting alot cleaner and fluid as you have developed over time. And no matter what, you seem to come up with something to say. Keep it up!
Beautiful, man. Short stories, long stories... just keep plugging away. Your comics are so important.
