Hey folks! I’m pretty excited to announce that I’ve just launched a new online store for my comics and art! Right now I have all of my issues of Boredom Pays up - including Boredom Pays 8 which is available for the first time ever online - and a special “subscription” rate to buy all 5 available issues for $20 - perfect if you’re new to the series.

This is also, I suppose, the unofficial launch of my publishing moniker, or imprint, No Commercial Value Comics. I plan to do some neat things under that title, so watch out!

Coming Home

Here's a comic that comprises over half of Boredom Pays 8 and works as a thematic end point for where Boredom Pays had been going for the past couple of issues.

As it stands right now I'm retiring Boredom Pays for the foreseeable because I simply have nothing more at the moment to say on the themes that the book was known for. That, really, is quite a good thing. I'm in a really positive mental space and am stoked to be focusing my attention on some weird, straight up fiction projects.

So, despite having told basically everybody that I was giving up Boredom Pays for the time being, I’ve been working on a new issue for the past couple of weeks that I’m planning on putting out at the end of next month. What can I say? I need to make these comics! This one’s gonna have, as you can likely tell by this here silly thing, a bit of a lighter tone to it, too. Thank Christ, right? What can I say, life’s good right now.

Also, Kirstyn(featured above) is way cuter than I’m capable of drawing. SIGH. What do you do?

This issue is mostly about losing the feeling of home, or belonging and trying to find it again. Lots about dysphoria, depression and just feeling weird basically. All written during a particularly down period this past winter it's pretty emotionally raw and, I think, some of the more affecting comics I've done to date. Printed on copy paper with a heavy weight card stock cover (in color!) at about 5.5" x 7.25" for $6 plus $1 shipping.

After much procrastination I finally decided to put the final touches on Boredom Pays 7 last night. It’s the last issue I’m going to do for the foreseeable future so it feels somewhat substantial to finally say “done” to a  series I’ve been working on for the past four years.

It feels somewhat right.

This is the last comic for the seventh issue of Boredom Pays (debuting at TCAF!). It’s a little out of context here, as it has been designed as a double page spread and fits in between various short comics that (hopefully, intentionally) string together a larger narrative when read in their intended sequence.

This is also the last autobio strip I’m going to be doing for a while. I know I’ve said that before, but I really feel like I’ve gotten much of what I needed to out of my system with this last issue of Boredom Pays. I’m really proud of it, I think it at least sort of touches on what I was going for.
